    Healthy Ideas for 2 Holidays

It is supposed to be the holiday today, but I am working alone to get the urgent planning done for the following week before the water festival holidays. Actually, i will be very busy again during the first 2 days of the water festival since we have a group of our major donor to visit different projects at some provinces.

I have been busy since September and until this month. A lot of arrangement for our donor trip and the schedule changed very often due as we found out we need to it around to make it easier. That is why i have to come to work today and work until 5pm.

Lucky, 2 holidays for this weeks will be on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October. Oh now, what am I going to do for this two days? Oh no. I have no plan yet. Briefly before end of the day, i am thinking of doing a few things over the weekend since my parents is with me.

Well, first tomorrow will be a day for resting at home. No work no activities, no complaint, no phone calls. However, i will spare some time to do exercise playing the table tennis at home with my 2 younger brothers. It’s gonna be a relaxing and fun day.

Then on Friday, I plan to catch up with some friends and web design companies somewhere in town since i don’t have much time to discuss with them during my office hours. Of course, on this day I plan to hang out in the evening with my parents and my brothers and sister.

I still don’t have any idea for saturday yet. As usually, it is free in the morning so i just do some reading at home or at the library. And then at 5pm I will attend the youth group meeting at the church. Probably after that I will eat out.

Full day on sunday, I will spend my time at the church starting at 8am until around 11am. Then we eat lunch together. Later on some poeple will be off to the province. That’s not a busy holiday!

Road Safty and Accident in Phnom Penh

Every human being desire for safety to wherever they go and as they go out the very important thing is they have to take a ride, drive or by any other means. To date, the accident in Cambodia growing higher compare to last year 2007.

In April 2008 alone, the finding from the Road Safety Cambodia showed that.

A provisional number of 2,545 casualties were reported by the participating hospitals, health centres, private clinics and traffic police departments in the 24 reporting provinces. Among them, 715 were severely injured and 176 died. The number of fatalities has increased by 21% compared to April 2007. The peak of casualties and fatalities were observed during the Khmer New Year Holiday (920 injured, and 62 died during 12th to 16th).

In Phnom Penh, 502 casualties were reported, corresponding to 50% increase compared to April 2007 and 8% increase compared to the previous month. Among them, 34 died.

10% of motorbikes’ casualties wore a helmet at accident time, in Phnom Penh, whereas it was only 5% in the whole country.

Among the Asian Countries, Cambodia classified to be the number one that got more road accident cases. Phnom Penh face the most road accident and people died because of this accident everyday.

Road safety education and other tools are distributed through media and different throught to help cut down the number of accident each year. However, it lacks of attentive from people themselves. The Khmer Traffic Law and the Unofficial English Traffic Law version will help to guide for better traveling for safety.

Other material for road safety education of the week would help and it is a good idea to get to read it and with other poster on injury prevention and safety promotion.

By reading these guidance, people will learn and have more idea for better prevention and for their own safety traveling on the road. Today, it is adviced that you should wear helmet, put the side mirror on your motor, bring a copy of your driving license to avoid paying money to the police when they stop you on the road.

    • Cambodia news 9:36 am on August 27, 2008 Permalink

The road accident is increasing it is because of human error. likely drivers are drunk, careless, disrespectful for traffic law so on. these are main cause for accidents. Sometimes, motorists or drivers have not respect the traffic lights. in order to reduce accidents, all people have to carefully drive on the road. In particular, motorist should wear safety helmet.

During last week, i saw traffic police stop and fine motorists without rear mirror, license plates, not wearing helmet and license plates covered by stickers. Check my blog http://www.vuthasurf.com
