Reading article from http://women.open.org.kh/km/internet-april-cheap saying that the internet price will drop down in april 2010. Hope it will happen as said. Mentioned in the article also said calling cost said to be 4.5 cent per minute within network and 5.95 cent per minute across network excluded VAT. But until now didn’t see calling rate drop down to this price yet.

Latest Offer Connection (OVI) a New Feature from Nokia
For Nokia lovers, this is another feature where Nokia offers to its Nokia phone users. I think this one is even much better ever than the design of the new phone set because with these new feature all Nokia phone can connect to share picture, using email for free and so on. I also connect with OVI website creating new email like “myname@ovi.com” this is cool stuff.
I first saw this news from mytv station, a new established tv station in Cambodia. I don’t think I use this service often with OVI but just for fun time and I also share some picture on OVI. But it is not for competition though.

Mobile Phone System – Talk more with Beeline New Promotion

I use beeline for awhile since its first promotion of 5cents forever and then I had a difficult time calling across network. So I stop using it since that time. Just recently, I saw their new promotion which completely killed the first promotion. Anywhere in the world have this kind of cheating to their clients and to both loyal clients.
Talk free after the first minute conversation. This sounds cool so I am going to try again and see how it work especially across the network. How do you think of this new promotion? Testing means to bear some cost….lolz

Cheaper Landline Phone Installation with Camintel

Source: camintel.com
After a 14 year operation in Cambodia and to celebrate its 14 anniversary, Camintel one of the phone service provider offer a new line setup system as low as $14 only according to the spot of advertisement on the local media and checking from Camintel website.
For a positive view, Cambodian telecommunication is improving its quality for the need of individual and businesses as well as expanding to each to more people in the countrywide.
More than just landlines phone service they also provide internet connection to their subscribers. I am thinking whether or not to go with them and to connect the internet at home. Do you have any better ideas or any suggestion?

Wing Money Transfer with New Technology by Hand Phone
I saw on the TV advertisement about the wing service a few days ago and i am wondering how it works with hand phone to transfer money from one place to another places in the country. I positively welcome such a new technology into Cambodia for this is a positive sign of growing and development of the country as well in term of new technology in banking.
I haven’t ask or hear anything clear about this wing service with this new tech yet. Does anyone know anything about this services and its offer to which group of people?
Do they focus this service only to those who already experienced with banking system or to focus on the new group such as those who are new to banking, poor and rural people in the country?
It sounds pretty scare to me as i never use such a service because it is new and i don’t know how secure it is to deliver and receive money when you transfer.
Do this service available to all people yet? How to access to this services? Where can you find this service for i am curious to get to understand this system and how to use it. I am not really in to new technology always but sometime i like to hear some specific thing like this.
Banking system in Cambodia now offer you with many choices while the world economic is slowing down and some countries face lots of difficulties. In the recent years, some companies and institution use the salary payment through bank by each employee just need to open their own bank account for salary. It is easy with ATM and several bank offer with visa card and even other services.
With Visa card you can also buy stuffs online from Cambodia using Cambodian bank system with latest technology support. So i assumed that wing would help in some ways to ease people in this century. I hope to learn this service faster.

More than 1000 dollar cell phone
Cheap phone is always reject by 90% of people. People are modern. That is why all the costing phone sell at the market. When you use the cheap phone it is very limited, normally you can just call and text message. The look is not brilliant too.
Because of those basic thing, people tend to forget it and look for a better on with new model, brand with camera, flash, 3g, voice record, video, music…etc.
Why need to spend more for phone?
It is hard question to answer. The simplest way to answer is because people like to spend money and to compete with one another in this world.
What is the important of smart to you?
So now what are the reason behind that cause you want to use smart phone instead of normal phone or the cheap one?

Cambodian is one of countries that facing with the trend of materialism/ consumerism. Many people are very much desiring new stuff and running behind the brand and model of accessory, vehicle, clothes, mobile phone etc. Some people are trying hard to get those things even though they can’t afford them. Many people cannot differentiate between “need” and “want” (or “having” and “being”)that why they have fell into the trap of materialism. Finally they almost become the slave of what they are having.

Beeline does not mean to hurt its clients. This is because MobiTel and other operators accuse Beeline of practicing “dumping price”. Beeline has no choice but to higher its price so that all of the players in the market stop blocking the across network call to and from Beeline.
