Every year it is a holiday in Cambodia for International Labor Day or International Worker Day or May Day explained by wikipedia which derived from a movement of joined of labor union that protecting the right of the worker or employee of the company or institution. There are always special activities each year on this event of the year which especially allow the public and private services to close office for one whole day.
What is International Labor Day in Cambodia?

As mentioned in the above, it is a holiday. This year it fall on saturday that cause some institution automatically move it to monday to follow the guideline from the government taking it seriously as holiday and only some companies that keep working but must make the double or triple pay to their employees.
Important entities like school, government offices or public services except hospital and private sector grant their official/employee to enjoy their holiday. Student is the most happy group because they can have one day off without any classes as well as public and private workers.
Some group activities during International Labor Day
Usually not many group activities in the society like gathering for special purposes but people spend more of their time with family and friends having a party instead of involving with certain issues in the society. There might be student group or environment group would want to meet up and do some environment cleaning up for example.
Most likely it is a holiday for friendship which this occasion allow them to be part of the fun life. So they can spend time as whole day cooking and eating together or going to somewhere that people like to hang out like resorts for example.
This is the most cases that happen on holiday like International Labor Day especially here in Cambodia. But this year I am on duty attending my relative wedding so traveling a wedding instead of enjoy the trip to somewhere or partying with friends. What about you?
