Ministry of Health is taking very strong initiative to prevent people from affecting the H1N1 during this 3 days water festival. I pray that people will be safe not affecting any diseases or flu especially H1N1.

I hope people will also know how to protect themselves from H1N1 and taking care for their family member to help stop H1N1.

    Attitude Toward Driving in Cambodia

Many people have very good attitude driving on the road in Cambodia and they make it all go well. Managing the attitude toward driving is the important key to show respect to other people’s life and gain respect from others too.

And you know how much you hurt when other treat you bad? And why you need other people bad while you are driving? You don’t own anything belong to the public because you are better, with power, with gang attitude, with education, with money but all you have to do is to respect other people.

So you know how much you hurt other people when you act very bad on the road especially when you drive so fast in the city and go crazy on the road without respecting the traffic rules.

When I say traffic rule, I don’t have to mention it because every know what is the traffic rule is. In order to keep the road in well order, we all have to respect the traffic rules as said in the traffic law.

Traffic light is another important that we all have to respect. When people almost reach the traffic light and they see it goes slowly red, I don’t know why many people just try to go faster and faster. And this is how they are about going to die soon in the road accident if anything happen. And those are not worthy attitude to respect. People like this are those who want to harm other people life and harming themselves.

This morning (Aug 14, 2009) while I was driving on the road reaching the corner of Olympic water tank traffic light I turned right driving from Deumkor market. At the corner of the road after I turned right, I came at the place where they put the road divider in the middle of the road.

I was so shocked that this luxus car just made a quick turn from the oposit way of driving and take the road where I was suppose to go. And this guy just press horn and horn and horn. He is violating the traffic rule and horning me to go off my way. What such a stupid guy horning with his damm driving taking other people driving way. Very stupid guy. And this guy luxus car didn’t have the number plate on it. What such a mess! Can’t believe what he did. He was driving alone and I think he is just one of the body guard or driver of one of the rich guy. Come on you are just slave to the rich don’t be so proud at yourself.

Damm you a driver of luxus car without number plate driving other people road this morning. I pray you’ll die ugly on the road accident haha.

I just hate it when people drive without respecting the rule especially those who…(you can fill in the blank here) :)

If the drivers have good attitude during their driving in the public street, The number of road accident decreased. By by contrast the number of fatal accident is still increasing, even the traffic police take strongly action against the drivers without helmets and motorbikes without mirror.

Last Saturday, while i was driving, moto-dup hit behind my motorbike but driver did not say “Sorry” or something to me. and then he drove away. Fortunately, My motorbike was damaged badly. if driver should say “Sorry”, the dispute will not happened. There are many matters i meed while driving in PP.

Toul Tum Poung Market (Expat Known as Russian Market)

    Sihanoukville - market

    Sihanouk Ville - Market

Toul Tum Poung is one of the busiest market in PP City selling mostly clothes for both men and women, hand-made products like silvers and wooden products, CD, VCD, DVD and lots more to choose from.

Cambodian rarely mention or come to get their daily need from this market. However, it is very popular for visitors and tourists who come to visit cambodia. Toul Tum Poung Market for them known as “Russian Market“, where expats come to buy stuffs mostly khmer-hand made products and clothes.

For those who experienced coming over once to this market, they will likely to come back again with a list of thing that they want to buy. I knew some people whenever they visit Cambodia, they always make one morning or afternoon just to walk around and get stuffs they need from this market.

For them, Russian market is the cheapest place to go. Example, if they buy CD or DVD in Australia it would cost around $20 per DVD. But here, you can find it at $2 per DVD only. How cheap is the world selling DVD at this price, I must buy it more even though it is not original but at least in good quality where I can sit down and watch for ten and twenty of times.

Many times people cannot tell you why they like this market, but surely it is very interesting place to go for informal shopping. I also recommend Russian market to those who are new to Cambodia. You can see many thing display and ready for you to grab it home for your children, your husband/wife and those you care for.

Most particular about Russian market is that people or sellers at this market can speak English to you or other language like Thai, Indonesia, Malay, Chineseand more. But remember, don’t talk to them in your own language they might not be able to follow you. They can only use simple language to communicate with you selling product at their shope only, but some are very good too though.

    Buying Buying Buying…

If you are coming to Russian market don’t imagine to just walk around but ready some money so you can spend for something special you will like it, I promise.

Some tips for you is to bargain the price to whatever you want to give, but I cannot guarantee how much they can offer you anyway. You can just try it. Because this market is for expat and many expat and tourist always come to get stuffs from this market. Sellers never rip you off with high price.

Final words, get some friends along so you can exhange ideas which one you want to buy. If alone so boring and might be hard for making decision :)

University Advertisement Campaign Season in PP

Today is the first day of high school final exam day nation wide in Cambodia. It is the time for the university to run their promotion campaign recruiting student. I listen to the radio last night and one university representative calling the campaign in a softer voice saying that they are visiting school during these 3 days to find the best student for their universities. I guess in the opposite way that they are going to give out leaflet more than helping to select a good ones.

This season usually a good business time of the year for school and university promotion since thousand of high school are going to continue their study in the next few months.

I am sure you guys also noticed about this if you have relatives or your children taking exam before or this year. They will come back home with bunches of paper promotion from school and universities.

Mekong River Protection System in PP

I don’t know if you noticed this month at the river front if you pass by you can see the big big advertisement spot hanging along the road while the River Protection System construction is going on.

I think it has been continuing for so long until now and it makes the view of mekong river block in someway. Now it looks not nice at all. I hope this construction can finish soon so the mekong river view will look better.

The flag hanging along the river look so beautiful. Do you know or seen in any other where have similiar look like this in other country? I guess it is a unique one and exist only in front of royal palace.
