NGO Education Partnership (NEP) is committed to sustaining dialogue between government and civil society on education issues in Cambodia, undertaking and disseminating research on key issues, and helping its 75 member education NGOs increase their effectiveness.
NEP seeks an Executive Director with proven experience in leading organizations and managing staff teams within the NGO sector. The successful candidate will be a bright and energetic individual with integrity and initiative who will work closely and collaboratively with a committed Board and staff.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board of Directors and managing a full-time staff of four, this individual will be expected to:
- Provide direction, leadership and management to NEP and oversee all of its activities;
- Be fully involved in major education reforms, ensuring clear two-way communication between NEP members, government and development partners;
- Oversee the work of NEP staff, providing feedback and support to ensure a positive work environment;
- Ensure that high standards of good governance and financial management are practiced;
- Increase NEP?s organizational capacity to research, advocate and support its members; and
- Manage development partner relationships and identify and seek new sources of funding.
Qualifications
- At least three years? management experience in an NGO environment;
- Post-graduate degree in management or development;
- A strategic thinker who can implement effectively;
- Understanding of government structure, policy and effective approaches to advocacy;
- Strong communications skills;
- Experience working with development partners and preparing funding proposals and reports; and
- Experience in preparing budgets and overseeing the preparation of financial reports.
The successful candidate will be a Cambodian national who communicates effectively in English. Knowledge of education issues at the policy level, and exposure to Cambodia?s education sector will be definite assets.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader and manager who is committed to achieving education for all in Cambodia and making change happen organizationally. The starting salary is US$850 a month plus benefits.
